I had to replace the old bimetallic circuit breaker in the postwar ZW. It was tripping on very light loads.

The replacement was a Bussman type UCB 15A  Type 1 Auto Reset with ATC footprint. Part no. UCN-15, which I found at the local Autozone car parts store. Mr. Lionelsoni had recommended Type II which resets only if you remove power. The store I went to did not have that model. Type I will cycle on & off until you remove the overload, similar to the way the old bimetallic one did.

  • I am looking for information on the ZW transformer. I have an old one that was working fine. Now when I put a motor on the track I get a short light. The breaker dose blow but the light comes on and I get no power. Can anyone tell what might be the problem or tell me where to get an exploded view of the ZW. If not maybe information on rebuilding the transformer.
  • Thank You, smelser7
