MTH makes Standard gauge 0-72 as well as 0-72 turnouts. Gargraves also makes standard gauge track although I'm not sure of the diameters.
There was another company KMT, that made standard gauge 0-72. I have quite a number of this track but haven't found a whole lot of info on the company.
Isnt normal Standard gauge 42"? They ran on normal track. No special track was made by Lionel in the prewar years. I run double head 408E all day long with no issues.
Just use the track clips if youre operating on the floor. The extra weight really pulls the track joints apart.
I may be selling my spare 408E in Mojave. If youre interested email me at whitejettacoupe@yahoo.com. Id like to save the ebay fees!
Yes, Diameter. Sorry about the confusion. Just wanted to make sure that my regular standard gauge track will work with the 402. Will I need wide radius curves if I plan to buy a 402??
You mean "diameter", don't you?

Will a 402 or 402E work on 42 inch radius curves?? My whole layout consists of 42 inch radius curves and I was looking to buy a 402 or 402E for my layout for christmas for the kids to see. But, I am worried that the 402 will not be able to make the turns smoothly. What is the next size radius curves for standard gauge? Is it 54 or 72 inch radius? Might have to make adjustments if the 402 does not operate on 42 inch radius. Any help will do. Thanks.
