Hi Guys: At the risk of getting myself into trouble here, I took this pic today. Last night I cut my Union Station completely in half lengthwise. I think the front is cute and will make a nice against-the-wall vista, once I have the windows put back in and a more permanent setting established. The back will then serve somewhere else as a warehouse or high school or factory. Two for one special today! LOL

Last night I cut my NOMA Train Station completely in half lengthwise.
Isn't that an American Flyer station or did Noma duplicate it ?
Seayakbill: Good point! I've seen that name Noma tossed around a whole lot in reference to this station, but when I look it up, it's actually called a #793 Union Station and there is an American Flyer name plate on the base inside. I'll make the editorial correction in my original post. Thanks. Anyway, mine didn't have a record player. Some day I'll get a junker Talking Station and take the record player out and mount it under the layout for that cut-down station. That'll work. I took an air-chime whistle from an old billboard and mounted that under a Way Station. Works pretty good. I suspended it with Erector strapping so I can get a small oil dropper under the table to give it a drop or two periodically. I should get a large soup can for it to act as a resonance chamber. LOL
Thanks again,
Timboy
In keeping with the Alaska Railroad theme, here is a Kris Model Trains boxcar:

Robert, I have 2 of the KMT Alaska RR boxcars same design as yours but one in brown and one in black.
Great Photos today folks as usual. Thanks!
Timboy, you have driven a sharp stick into my eye. .
Actually that is a pretty good use of the Flyer station. They are not all that uncommon, and if you ever did want a talking station like that I think the number is 799. Have you considered setting the halves of the station side by side for a deluxe station? You could use the tower to mask the seam.
I apologize that I can't follow the Alaskan theme today. I was rummaging around in the S gauge boxes this weekend and I decided to post some photos of that part of the collection.

I just completed a portable 4X6 American Flyer layout for Christmas that bolts in half. I've used period 1960's lesney matchbox cars to complete the scene.
NWF: If those are vintage Alcos in pristine condition, then they are quite awesome! NICE!!!!!!!!! Boy, would I love to chop them! Just kidding. Too nice to touch!
Did make it out by the train museum here today and took 2 pics for you all this is a 4-6-0

Bill, I suspect your KMT Alaska boxcar variations must be harder to find, as I've only seen blue ones for sale.

Lionel's No. 8E hits the rails at my home for a few days.
Here is a side view, along with Lionel Classics passenger cars in the background.
Built around 1928, and still running like a gem.
