236 loco
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, July 1, 2004 5:09 PM
This is my second question about this loco. I presently have a 2-4-2 steam loco with the number 236 on the cab just under the window (someone told me it is a Scout). Well, I took the motor housing out and after some difficulty finally figured out how to put it together again. However, now when I try to run it, it just sits there or goes a short distance then goes in the other direction, if it goes at all. There are two wires that come out of the motor housing, and I am not quite sure where they go. It appears they should be hooked up to the "smoke unit" and/or the light.
It worked OK before I took it apart. I am using a Lionel 1033 transfromer with post U hooked up to the center rail and post A hooked up to the outside rail. I contacted Lionel and was told to call their Costumer Service and request an instruction sheet. They told me an instruction sheet is no longer available for my loco because is too old. They apparantly only have instruction sheets for 1980 or newer products.

Give me a few minutes, and I'd be glad to scan in an exploded view and wiring diagram of this engine.
