New American Flyer Switches not available?
Posted by AF1963 on Thursday, October 21, 2010 8:09 PM

It seems from all my searches that Lionel makes new American Flyer track but no switches or crossovers.  I am correct or am I missing something?

You are correct.. Lionel is not making any Flyer switches.  S Helper makes a switch that is the same size and radius as the original Flyer switches, however you would have to use their adapter pins to connect the two types of track

Or,  you could make your own - as I do:

The old AF switch had a nice feature that the new ones don't...the ability to channel the electrical current from the main line to/from a passing siding when the switch is thrown. So, you can run 2 trains (one at a time) without manually regulating power feed.
