Thanks for the info.  It wasn't a dealer who gave me that price, it was listed on eBay.  It was a conventional model.

I'm not sure what happened with the PM.  You should have been able to reply to my conversation, just like IM.  The email listed in my profile is correct.

Thanks again,

Joe

Joe, I tried e-mailing you through the link provided in your e-mail but it comes up as an error.

The price that your dealer quoted you on the locomotive is a very good price for the Premier version. But be aware that it also comes in RailKing conventional and Railking PS-2 in which the quoted price is probably OK for the PS-2 but not for the conventional .

Seayakbill,

Thanks for the info and the second photo.  That is a great looking loco, I guess more so if one is a W fan.

Thanks,

Joe

Seayakbill - Please tell me more about the Bush 41 loco.  Was that custom painted?  Any other presidents?

Joe

Joe, that is a MTH Premier SD70 Ace. A couple years ago the Union Pacific repainted one of their SD70's to commemorate President Bush's ( #41 ) Library. MTH released their model after the UP Heritage releases.

SantaFe158
The two closest to the layout are Postwar Lionel LW type transformers, the two in the front look like the standard Trainmaster type transformer lionel's had for a long time.

Got it, Thanx!

Absolutely love the Standard Gauge trains!!!

Here is a standard gauge set of Lionel Classics.  I've had these coaches for a couple years now.

But new to the roster is this Lionel Classics 1-384 in the two tone gray.  I've been looking for this at a reasonable price for a while and bought it last week.

I got a bit artistic with this shot.  This is the roof of the Lionel tinplate Hillside-Irvington factory.

Alongside the steamer is my Tonka Mighty Dump truck.

Guys:  Fabulous American Flyer pics!  Better than museum quality and nice pic-taking as well.  I should know.  Pics like that are not as easy as one might think.  Hats off!

Regards,

Timboy

Nice work!

What transformers are you using? I don't think I've seen them before. Are they postwar?

Great photos today everyone.  Its nice to see what other folks are doing with their layouts and the equipment that they have.

Jim Sturgeon-Phish,

The Washington and Franklin sets are both a lot of fun.  I have thought of taking some of the Franklin coaches and painting them to match the Washington engine to have a unique passenger set.  Its nice to see that you are still adding to your American Flyer collection even if you don't have an operating layout at this time.

I thought I would add some photos of my Washington set.

And here are a few photos of other S gauge equipment that I have that I believe that I have posted before.  The majority of my S gauge collection is in boxes.
OK, this isn't S gauge, but it is the prewar, 3/16 O gauge Royal Blue.

David, nice work on those PW alcos, they look great with the passenger cars.

I repainted two Lionel postwar Alco FA #205 diesels to match my Great Lakes green and gray passenger cars.  These are  reissues of the postwar 2400's with Mt. Clemens, Chesterfield, Lansing & Detroit cars (when Lionel was located in Michigan).  Tamiya spray cans from the local hobby shop matched pretty well.  Lettering was done with rub on letters and the stripes are narrow yellow tape.   So the designation becomes Alco PA for passenger service (FA was for freight).

I wonder why Lionel never came up with matching paint schemes for the postwar Alco's?
