Lee:

Bruce was an icon in toy trains; especially 2-rail American Flyer.  We was a past president of the Eastern Division TCA and I believe NASG as well.  He wrote many articles for toy train publications.  His layout was featured in the Thomas McComas video, Fun & Thrills With American Flyer, where his keen wit and off-center sense of humor took center stage on the massive and impressive  American Flyer layout he built.  He was a regular at the York train meets and could often be seen in one of the hall chatting with guys.

Here is his obit:

"Bruce D. Manson, Jr.

Bruce D. Manson, Jr., 81, of Lancaster died Friday morning September 10, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, PA. He was born in Queens, NY and was the son of the late Bruce D. and Sara Coile Manson. Bruce was the loving husband of Anna Newman Manson with whom he would have celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in October.

Mr. Manson earned a BS in History and an MS in English from St. John's University and was the Editor of The Train Collectors Quarterly for 27 years. He served as a Deacon and Usher at the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City, was very active in Republican politics and the Train Collectors Association in Strasburg, PA.

Services will be held at a later date. Please omit flowers; memorials may be made in Bruce's memory to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17608-4125; The Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602-1130; The Train Collectors Association, PO Box 248, Strasburg, PA 17579-0248; or Harvest Presbyterian Church, PO Box 309, Lampeter, PA 17537.

Hey Timboy,

Who is Bruce Manson? I went over to www.whosaliveandwhosdead.com and I didn't find his name there. I tried to enter his name(last name only) even manually and no success.

What kind of person is he? An actor or somebody in model trains?

I picked this up on another forum.  It is unverified.  The report is that Bruce Manson has passed away at age 81.  He was an inspiration.  His layout was truly unique.  If this report is true, then he has made his last run.  Can anyone verify this...
