Prewar Coaches
Posted by MadMarx on Saturday, September 11, 2010 2:54 PM

Hi folks.

Quick question on something that has me stumped. I can't seem to find a manufacturer name to match these two coaches. Probably has been repainted over the graphics, so there is no name.

Any ideas? The tab and slot couplers remind me of early American Flyer, but no match on the trucks and body style. The ends are open to simulate doors.

Thanks for looking. MM

Repainted Lionel

Ok, found it - I was thinking the cars were #603's and they are either that or #601's - I can't really tell from the pictures I have as a reference. The reason for the confusion is that there is an early and a later version of the #603. Couplers are OK.

You are correct and thank you so much!

And here is a picture of the coach.  There is also a baggage car, as well with the set.
