Lionel 612052 fastrack crossing

I run most of my trains in conventional mode, and when running slow there is not enough power to run the bell and  lights on my Lionel 612052 crossing. I would like to modify it to run on seperate power the same way I power my Fastrack 036 switches. Has anyone figured out a way to convert it yet??
