Currently on eBay there is a Flyer set referred to as "Number 1102" but cannot find any reference to that set in the Doyle reference book or inthe catalogs of the early-mod-50s era. The ad says it's 1952 but I know that's incorrect because it has knuckle couplers and the sintered iron trucks (he's using the copyright date on the intstruction booklet.)  It should be in the 1955-58 range but I'm curious about the set number. The ad even shows this number on the side of the box.

I think a description of the contents, locomotive and rolling stock, would help.  There is a site (and I can't lay my hands on the URL right at this moment) where the author has pictures that replicate many of the cataloged AF sets from the 1950's.  Perhaps you could compare the listing of items being sold against his site.

Found it: http://www.geocities.com/theupstairstrain/trains.html

I have figured out what is wrong with my brain!  On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
