Ogaugeoverlord
That is neat. I actually have one from a brief fling with HO in the late 60s. It was imported by AHM, which I believe at the time was having their trains made in Yugoslavia. This would have been an inexpensive train when it was new. I wouldn't sink a lot of money into it.

Oh, the locomotive is driven from the tender. There is a round, black pipe-looking-thingy running from the tender to the loco which is the drive shaft.

The HO scale Bowker 2-4-0 was introduced in the 1960s and the 1967 catalog on "HO Seeker" says the price was $15.95.

It later become considerably more expensive at which time I consider it largely a waste of money.

The Bowker is a real prototype and the AHM model, made by Pocher, was oversize -- or rather the locomotive was oversize, particularly the rather heroic smoke stack, while the tender was probably closer to scale.  The Bowker did have a tender drive as the HO Seeker exploded parts diagram shows

but my two Bowkers had a motor in the locomotive that filled the cab -- the tender was just along for the ride.  Over time AHM moved away from tender drives.

It was a speed demon.  I kitbashed mine into an unusual Pennsylvania RR tank engine 2-4-6 but it never looked good and the parts sit in a box.

Got one, a nice running little engine, I think I paid $12.95 for it new. As mentioned above don't lose the black drive shaft or the motor will be useless.

I just listed this on ebay for a penny, it has never been used.  Just wondering what I should expect it to get at auction.    Thanks  Todd
