The "Banquet Car" was one for each table.  Eight people are seated at each table and each table has a group of prizes including one car.    Up on the stage they draw the seat number for each table prize.

The 2010 "Banquet Car" is an MTH Railking "Modern Reefer Car" with die-cast sprung trucks, lettered for the "American Brewery Inc. Baltimore, MD"  with the logo "Baltimore American Beer" in red, white, and blue.  Very nice car and the price was right.

I actually liked the Carling beer truck better than the RR offerings.  Loaded with detail.  Should be a few available at YORK.

Remember "The Good Old Days".

If you wanted a Convention car you ordered them by January 1st and you received it at the TCA Convention.  One per member, a real collector item!    The members who did not attend, would have them mailed out immediately after the Convention.

Today you can buy all you want and get them (if your lucky) before the end of the year.  A rememberance, not a souvenir.

I was lucky, I came home with a real Convention souvenir, one of the 150 TCA Banquet Cars.

I had been wondering when they would ship so I called The TCA and spoke with a VERY nice and pleasant lady by the name of Carol Bair. That was a couple weeks ago and today I received an email from Ms Bair indicating that the cars would ship as follows:

Old Bay Boxcar - October or November 2010
Aquarium Car - December 2010 or January 2011

It is really nice to know there are people who take pride in their job and provide top-notch customer service.
