Frackville Model Train Display will be OPEN on Sunday July 25th

Escape the blistering heat on Sunday and come over and take a look at our "O" gauge model RR based on the Anthracite Region from the Mahanoy Tunnel through the towns and patches of the Mahanoy Valley, ending at Ashland PA. We try to capture the feeling as best possible during the Steam era when coal was king. Our layout is undergoing a transformation to complete command control using the MTH DCS system. We also run some Lionel TMCC locomotives. Our eventual goal is to allow visitors for a small donation to take their turn as engineer and run a train around our large 24' x 55' multi-level model railroad. The majority of what you'll see is from the once mighty Reading RR and the Pennsy which dominated the valley. We also have trolleys running which always seem to be a hit. Our admission is the extremely affordable $.50 per person donation. We are easy to get to in the Schuylkill Mall conveniently located at the intersect of Interstate 81 and state highway 61 Frackville, PA. We are located in the Famous Lables wing of the mall. Please enter through the mall entrance where the Citi-Bank sign is. We are at the end of the hall on the right, directly across from Payless shoes. There is a cool Lego Train display in the window. Since there are only 5 of us there are times when we are closed due to an emergency. We don't want anyone to make a wasted trip so if you are coming a distance please call Wally at 570-205-6275 to confirm we are open. You may also visit our Website www.anthracitemodelrr.com or email us at malltrains@gmail.com We are always looking for others who enjoy the hobby of model railroading to join us. We are looking for persons age 16 and up. There are many opportunities from fixing trains, making scenery, constructing buildings, repairing some of our buildings that have fallen on hard times, or just as a greeter, all the way up to an operator. We also can use help with our web page or any other ideas you may have for promoting our display. We mainly model in "O" scale HI-Rail but we are looking for others to join us who would like to help build or move an existing HO or N scale RR to our display space. All we ask is that you are enthusiastic about Railroading, Coal Mining, or the History of our area and that you play well with others. We are all easy to get along with, there just isn't enough of us to go around. On Sunday Wally, his son Caleb, and Gay our greeter will be there looking forward to meet and talk with you. I unfortunately have to miss this Sunday, I'll be out of town for a family gathering, in the heat, and Mike K. is down the shore for a yearly getaway. So please come out and support us. We look forward to seeing you. Wally, Caleb, Gay, Mike, & Dave the North Schuylkill Hi-Railers
