Four is what Lionel claimed for them:  "While E-Units usually control but one motor, it is possible, to control as many as four motors simultaneously by connecting them to a single E-Unit in parallel."

E-Unit Current Capacity

Does anybody know what the amprage rating is on a Lionel 3 position e-unit is?

I'm in the process of aquiring parts and pieces to put together a 200 series Alco ABA unit with one motor in each of the A units and two motors in the B unit, all running through the same e-unit.

I know that the e-units are capable of running two motors, but can they handle 4?
