Looking for a trustworthy locomotive restoration resource...
Posted by GG1 guy on Monday, July 5, 2010 3:11 PM

I would like to hear from users out there who have firsthand experience with a professional Lionel restoration service, I have several late 1940s era items that I would like to have professionally restored to new condition.  Cost is not really an issue-quality is.  I've seen some ads in various magazines for various restoration buisnesses, but I want to hear from real customers who have had real experiences with this-good or bad. I am not doing this to "increase their value"-in some cases this would actually devalue certain items-I just want these items restored to like new condition to operate on my own layout.  Any input is very much appreciated.

I see no clear reason why I should grow up...

Am informed by a friend who lives in San Diego CA that the following person there might be of service:  Frank "The Trainman" (Jim Cooley) at (619) 295-1611.
