Murphy's law in action?

You have no idea. If you could have seen us trying to get things going last Sunday, it was kind of like a modern circus...but we'll get there!

Public apology from the Frackville PA Public Display Layout
Posted by cruikshank on Sunday, June 27, 2010 10:34 PM
I want to take this time to apologize to anyone who came out today to see our layout and found closed doors. Despite getting there 3 hours before opening we experienced unexpected electrical problems of Apollo 13 magnitude. Every time we turned around we were able to run less and less trains until there were none. We finally got things ironed out about 2:00pm. We did offer to let people at least come in and see the layout, but most stayed outside. We feel real bad about this. In the future we have published a contact phone number on our website http://www.anthracitemodelrr.com for anyone coming from a distance, they can call ahead to make sure we are running on schedule. We are in the process of rewiring 1/2 of our layout so that the entire layout will run under command control. This will allow for more realistic operation and also allow for public participation! Once we are fully operational for a nominal fee of $1 you can operate a train on our 24' x 55' layout. Thanks again to those who did turn out, and please accept our apologies.
