I've got a #600 MKT switcher that has operating magnetic couplers.  Not sure, but it seems like these should be a direct replacement for your non-operating couplers.  Sorry, I don't have part numbers.  Jeff at the Train Tender might be able to help.

I'm also thinking about installing an Electronic Railroad TMCC type conversion.  Coil couplers are offered as an option.

Good luck.

I am thinking of getting one of these to repaint in the EJ&E colors. It needs work and is far from being a collector's item so I feel it is a good candidate for a repaint. I like the fact that it has a working horn, lights and two axle Magnetraction. What I don't like is the fact that it has non working plastic couplers. Would it be possible to replace the non functioning couplers with magnetic couplers or coil? I'm not too fond of coil couplers but they would work if I can't get magnetic couplers. Any suggestions? Part numbers etc?

Thanks guys.
