I told myself that I would stop collecting rolling stock when I ran out of shelf space. Then I realized that the lower shelf was wide enough it could accomodate two lines of cars, I just had to add an additional "track".
I now have room for four more pieces! Next up is a flatcar so I can properly display my tractor load.
I have figured out what is wrong with my brain! On the left side nothing works right, and on the right side there is nothing left!
That is real slick and cool. Good thinking.

Stebby......nice shelves! Are those formica or painted. Look really clean. Some day my overflow will be on shelves. Did you catch Laz'? He has his lit up!

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.

The shelves are those melamine-clad kind that you find in the shelving section of any big box store. The 'tracks" are made from pine door stop that is tacked to the shelf and painted gloss white. I deliberately made the lower shelf wider so the trains woudn't be in the shadow cast by the shelf above.
I can't help but note that there is a signal lack of photos in the Sunday Photo Fun thread
Stebby,
You "never" run out of shelf space, it just leads to another shelf expansion. Again, again, again, ad infinitum. Just finished an expansion but I still have most of my rolling stock in plastic tubs.
All train shelves ar double track except the one with the Chessies, they are triple deep. Photos aren't very good, used the ancient digital.

Yep, MTH did a terrific job on them
My new intermodal area is coming along- more to follow soon-
Hey Jeff, intermodal area is a looking pretty darn nice. Are the Hi-Jacks operational ??
Bill, thanks- the cranes do work, as my boys enjoy using them. Mostly used for smaller containers as some larger ones are too heavy - however, quite a cool effect when in use-
