If those are auto carriers, I am surprised that you didn't see them in Norfolk Southern as well near the Miami FL airport. Anyway CSX is one of the largest carriers in the eastcoast & central U.S.

Automotive carriers. When we were restoring a steam locomotive in FEC's railyards behind the Miami airport in Hialeah, there was a huge fenced in area where they brought those rail cars to be loaded and unloaded.

These sound like automobile carriers.  As far as to who made/maked them in O scale, I'm not sure.

I've recently seen a few of these in tho old Grand Trunck livery outside the Delta Township GM assembly plant.

CN - CSX Freight cars
Posted by runtime on Monday, June 14, 2010 7:05 PM

I periodically see large freight consists of identical, tall, rounded roofed cars with perforated looking sides marked either CNor CSX - all in yellow with silver roofs - typical CN livery.  I'm surprised to see these regularly here in the eastern US, and I wondr what they transport.

More importantly, I'm inexplicapbly attracted to these cars, and I'm pretty sure I've seen them modeled in 'O'. Can anyone tell me (assuming I'm correct) which manufacturer(s) have made them and when? Also what they are designated as, so I can search for them.

Thanks,

runtime
