Hi all,
My mom was able to grab a box of track at a flea market for my son. She did a good job! He just got a new set this Christmas with Lionel's Fast track. The track she picked up is very nice and quite a large radius and I would love to get it set up and working in the living room (wife permitting) for one of those temporary weekend jobs. Problem is, i'm not familiar with the track. It doesn't have any of the power connectors on it from what I can see. The ties are black plastic, hollow and pretty close together It's also missing a couple of pegs which seem like standard O-track pegs. I'll include a few photos so that my someone with expertise could maybe help identify it for me and maybe tell me where I could get some parts. Thanks!
From what I can see of the track, it looks like K-Line's 072 curve. If it is K-Line O gauge tubular track, all you need is the adapter piece for Fastrac to tubular Lionel O gauge track at each connection to the other track. If I am correct that track is also out of production, Lionel didn't continue making it, after buying up K-Line.

Thanks for the help Lee. That definitely gives me a start. I tried finding the adapter piece on Lionel.com but couldn't locate it. Could you provide a link possibly? Also, it seems that, because the ties are spaced closely together that I can't use a traditional lockon. I'm guessing it would have to be something special to fit in between the ties for this particular track. I'll take a look around to see if I can find anything. Thanks for the help!
Trevor
Thanks so much, I must have looked right past it!
A good thing to note about the lockon is that K-line made a special between the ties lockon specifically for that track. I usually see them go for around $10 though, so it would probably be better to just solder the wires on.
Here's one I just found for a pretty fair price: http://cgi.ebay.com/K-LINE-TRAINS-K-0690-O-GAUGE-PROTECTION-POWER-LOCKON-/230486813557?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item35aa15ab75
And it appears that the seller has several of them for sale. You could probably save on shipping by buying a few.
What I use for power clips is Gargraves power clips, they sell for about $4.50 to $6.00 for three in a bag. Insert the clips from underneath the track. Another thing I do with the Gargraves track clips is to paint them green using Squadron Green putty, as I have green mats on my layout, I try to camoflauge or hide the power clips.
Also you can cut the K-Line track to fit just like regular tubular track and add track pins for Lionel tubular track. One other feature about the K-Line track is that all three rails are seperated electrically.
