I'm in the process of modifying 7 lionel O42's (6-65167/6-65168)to run them from DC power-- in my experimenting, i found that they work well at 12vdc. 10v doesn't throw the points enough, and 15vdc is too much-- the points bounce off the rail!. 12vdc works consistently well.I'll be using a capacitor discharge setup,too.
A Day Without Trains is a Day Wasted
I want to know if it is possible to use a modern toggle or momentary switch to replace the remote switches. This would save me alot of space as I have 11 of the switches and they are big. I want to replace them with toggle switches and LED's. Is this possible, if so does anyone know if I can do this and how?
