Buckeye Riveter, What happened to your avatar with the Engineer outfit on. I was serious when I asked you, back when, if you knew what brand your great outfit was, as I would have liked to have an outfit, like yours, when I was young. Your great outfit looked authentic and well made. My avatar is of our Grandson, our Daughter's Son, Mike Jr. in his O'sh Kosh B'Gosh Engineer outfit, neckerchief and hat , which my Wife bought for him. Ralph

Ed you got it! As I said I have both of them on my dining room table. I've been playing with them since the day the second one came. I was a little hesitant to plug the first one in. That's the one that I bought without the control box and cables. If that didn't work then my investment was not so wise. Well it did work and worked up to standard so that's a good thing. As soon as my roommate comes back from India and gets his boxes that he stored down in the family room, then I will begin the explansion of the layout. It will be almost half my family room minus the washer and dryer, the heating oil tank and my furnace room workshop. But there is a lot of free space that I can and will use. As I said before if I dont' use both you get first refusal on the first one. Hell either one they both work great. They do take a lot of real estate on the board so it remains to be seen how it goes with both. O

If you ever figure out that you can only use one let me know and maybe we can figure a way to reverse engineer a control box for the second one.

I have the #213 and I would prefer the higher clearance of the one you have.

Let there be pics! I will definitely take a bunch and post them, for those interested, to look at. Terry both of these are identical 6-12782 Lionel Lift bridges made in '91-92. They have all the bells and whilstles and as I mentioned in an earlier post, they work as specified. They will remain on my dining room table, again a privildege of not being married, until my former room mate clears his boxes out of the area that is now designated for the new layout addition. I still look at them and marvel at the size of them. Huge!!! I love the red airplane warning lights on the top of each tower. They not only blink on and off but they change intensity so that they look like a rotating light, ya know visually how they come on and grow in intensity and they shut off. Cool!!! Thanks for your interest and as I said, plenty of pics starting when I begin the addition and subsequent installation of the bridges. 'cause youse guys are my buds, right? VBG

Ya gotta love it! The newly arrived bridge works just fine but so does the first bridge that was lacking a control box. There was 4 adults and about a million kids here after the ice cream truck came by. Not such a big deal but  have white carpets. VBG Well anyway the bell is great and so is the klaxon. Loud and clear. The span goes up and down smoothly and locks when it hit the bottom of itl's travel. So after putting both through their paces I'm smilin'! I did have my doubts about the first one working fully but now I'm a believer, can I have an Amen?     They won't be going down to the train room for a while, but that's OK cause I can play with them when having lunch and it's good place to show them to visitors. My former roommate is coming back, a married man, from India in about a month and he has some stuff stored in the family room where I want to begin the expansion. I'm phyced about this. The klaxon is really a diesel horn but it's loud as well as the bell. In fact that same bell would be great on rail crossings. So all went well and we move on to the next "issue" with the expansion. I hope they all turn out as well, but perhaps not as expensive. VBG Oscar

Some guys just punch holes in the wall and have two layouts connected by the newly formed tunnel.  Like someone we know.....Whistling  I love it when he is not here to defend himself.  Maybe we should get on him again about scenicing his layout.

Once possessed, it can always be made to operate!!!!  Most of the guys here seem to return or to discard nothing once they get it, no matter what.  My kind of hoarders, will keep everything, even if it sits in a box for a decade or two, declaring "I might need it!"  And...."If I just increase the size of my layout 100% by tearing down a few walls and have the architects shore up the weight bearing places,,,,"   Big Smile

When I returned from lunch, one martini and a glass of wine with at Philly steak and cheese sub, I found this huge brown box with the big L on it. I haven't taken it out yet because I promised that a few kids and their parents could be there for the unvieling. That should occur around 330 pm. Hey, I did promise! I feel like a little kid that knows what he's getting for Christmas, he knows that his parents have already bought it,  and he's dying to get it so he can play with it. VBG Now all that remains is if the "new" bridge works as advertised. Stay tuned.
