I have two sets of Conventional Classics F-3's. I don't have any kind of lubricating instructions on them. I know all of the obvious places to oil or lubricate on the bottom of the powered unit. I haven't taken the shell off yet, but I suppose that they have the little wick things on top of the motors. Am I missing anything?

Some have wicks some don't. If not a very SMALL drop of oil on the open shaft is ok. The only other place is the power truck for grease if you want to remove the motor. All that is needed there is grease on the worm and gear, packing the entire hole with grease does nothing but empty your grease container. Oh why no instructions, you must not be the original owner.

They did pass through other hands before I got them. They look good and run good so I did well on them I think.
You might try the Lionel web site for instruction books for these - seems like the Conventional Classics equipment ought to be new enough that these could be found in the 'literature' section of the web site.
