Sorry for the late notice. If your traveling through PA and are anywhere close tomorrow, please stop by! Beautiful traveling weather. Take a Sunday Drive and come visit and talk to us. We love visitors who like trains! The Broad Mountain and Mahanoy Valley Railroad "O" scale Hi-Rail display layout will be OPEN this Sunday from noon-5pm. Layout size is 24' x 55' multi-level. Please come visit us. We are conveniently located at the Schuylkill Mall in the Famous Labels wing across from Payless Shoes. Easy to get to at the intersection of Interstate 81 and SR-61 Frackville, PA. Admission is just $0.50 but we respectfully ask for donations in order to help us keep the place open. We are based on the Mahanoy Valley from the Buck Mt. Tunnel through all the little towns and coal patches from Mahanoy City to Ashland. We model the Reading and the PRR during the Steam era when coal was King. Come see as many as 11 trains running at once along with our very popular trollies. One section is automated using the isolated outside rail. 6 trains run at once, starting and stopping on their own. Another section is run by DCS and TMCC, and yet another is conventional control via the MTH DCS system. When things run great it's a sight to see, and when they don't you get a free show like the Adams Family where Roaring Steam Engines collide head on! Besides department stores and boutiques for the ladies and kids there is also the very popular Black Diamond Antiques and Collectibles mall and auction. There you can find toys, trains, and historic coal mining collectibles, plus tons of other old and good stuff. We are always open to new members to help us build, maintain, and grow our layout. Plus we recently took on New Space with hopes of adding HO or N scale layouts. So if you have interest in building in those scales, or moving an existing layout lets talk. We thought that opening up to these more popular scales would generate some interest, but so far, no go. Come on Model RR's get out of the confines of your basement and help to build something big where you can run realistically long trains. NEWS: We recently purchased some HO equipment including DCC locos, power packs, rolling stock, track, buildings, and more. So if you are into HO and would like to join a group and help create a new HO empire, please contact us, or better yet stop by!
