Wish It Was Winter
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 11:21 PM
Hey guy's , wondering if I'm the only one waiting for the winter .I have more time to work on building stuctures and createting ,in the slow season. But summer is here and time is so little .I walk by my layout and I want to sit down and work , but I know if I start I wont be able to finish. Really miss those 8 hour days

I live in Arizona where this IS winter to us. 120 degree winter. We stay inside here this time of year and play outside in December-March when it's only 80 degrees outside. You'll notice all my posts about layout building and electric work. I'm inside with the A/C up full until Halloween.

With 120 in arizona I guess I can't complain about 90 degrees we have now in New York.

Winter train season, Summer is "Dear season"....[;)] I don't mind either[:D]

we feature daily weather updates on the Coffee post.

I HATE hot and muggy and buggy summers. Give me snow and ice or fall leaves anytime.

I generally find more time to work on my trains in the summer thn in the winter. Well, I suppose that I have more free time in the summer seing as how there's no school, but I also am someone who hates the heat and likes to be in the nice cool basement on hot summer days.

I've also done some good work on layout projects during the summer. California's Central Valley usually has several days each summer of 100 degree plus heat. Its nice to slip into the train room, turn on the swamp cooler, and forget about the heat outside.

I sort of enjoy these long summer days. They are ideal for performing restoration and repairs on my postwar stuff. Nothing like sitting on the deck while repairing trains or building a diorama for the layout. Nice and relaxing.

Winter will be here before we know it, so let's enjoy this summer.
