I'm adding sidings to the upper level of my layout. I use a lot of manual K-line 200 series (027 profile) discontinued switches. They do have red and green indicator lights on them. Some of them I have sectioned off 1/3 of the switches base so I can fit in more sidings. And on the modified switches I had to remove the little controller lever + box. Do I still need to use plastic pins anywhere on these switches?

With a manual switch you don't need insulating pins except to isolate track power from a certain section of track. If you want continuos track power keep the metal pins in place.
