AF Tender - Screws Keep Falling Off.
Posted by richhotrain on Saturday, May 1, 2010 1:46 PM

The metal shell of the tender on my AF #312 steam engine is held in place by four screws.  Lately, I keep finding them, one or two at a time, laying along the tracks.  Any suggestions for a fix to keep these screws held tightly in place?

Thanks.

Hi Rich,

A quick easy fix is to wrap a turn or two of teflon tape like you would use on plumbing around the screw.

Ahh, very cool.  I have that stuff in my plumbing box of goodies.

Thanks, Jim.
