Re-Stringing an AF 644 Crane
Posted by aflyer on Friday, April 23, 2010 10:49 PM

Hi, I have just purshased an early 644 Brownhoist Crane that needs to be restrung.  Does any have a picture or diagram you would share.  I thought there would be one in my K-Line book but there is not. The car is pretty clean for a $12.00 purchase, and the string looks original and in pretty good shape.  It is just not strung correctly and does not support the boom.

Thank you in advance,

George

There is also the American Flyer Crane Car Owner's Manual on the Lionel Website with a stringing diagram for their "reproduction" cranes  at http://www.lionel.com/media/servicedocuments/74-9012-250.pdf

Jim, Tommy,

Thank you both, I went to the Portlines site, but missed it, guess I better get my glasses checked!!  That manual from Lionel is very good.

Thank you both again.

I am off to do some cleaning and restringing!
