I am wondering if i can use any type of AA rechargable batteries with the leggacy system and keep them on hand please reply back asap
I believe that they must be "NiMH" which are a specific type of rechargeable battery. The back of the cover states this. If you use alkaline batteries you need to turn the charging switch to the off position on the legacy base. The instructions are VERY specific to not mix NiMH batteries with alkaline (non-recharagble) batteries.
Yes you can use AA non-rechargable batteries. I [and several others] believe that the rechargable ones help cause signal loss. Alkiline AA's seem to be stronger and last longer. Now be sure you turn off the base's charger. I also put black tape over the recharging "terminals" in the base. I found they will "draw" some power from your batteries if you leave the remote in the base for a long period of time. I have a base and and add on unit. Both remotes operate great with AA alkiline batteries.

Coppertops for me. The rechargables that came with unit aren't very good. Didn't have signal loss, they just won't recharge.

Give em a try should be ok, My recharger just seemed to die out even with new rechargable batteries,. That's why I went to coppertops. Good luck.
