There is absolutely no need for a track section with the magnet for any of the milk cars. There simply is nothing in the car for the magnet to act upon.
Use the Lionel 1019 operating track section for best results on O-27.
I use the 6019 for this car, but use the "uncouple" button for activation. The couplers will not open when the car is centered on the 6019 for car operation. The OTC will work, too.
The RCS & UCS sections both work fine with "O".

The Corral Car operates on the principle of the OTC controller. It uses the corral and the portions of the corral that attach to the track to vibrate the corral to make the car and the corral move the cows. Similarly, the Horse Car and the Barrel Loader use the same OTC principle, but require OTC lockons - they don't get the vibration from the platforms they serve. In all cases the shoes need be in place on the OTC connection - lockon or platform in the case of the corral - for the accessory to work. Some people use the 5 rail version of a UCS track in place of the OTC lockon, which I believe the previous post refers to.
The Milk Car operates on the magnetic pull of the car of an uncoupler/unloader track. The one with the red circle in the middle or a GG square magnet. The UCS track has 5 rails, the uncoupler/unloader has 3 rails. If your Milk Car has shoes, it needs a UCS track or OTC lockon to operate. I don't know if lionel made such a car, but anything is possible. Most likely, the car needs be centered on the magnet and the buttons pressed. Two buttons to unload. The O gauge track requires wiring. Be sure you wired it correctly. Same with GG. The O-27 comes wired to its controller unless it is used and someone fiddled with it. The O-27 version to operate the milk car is all black and a bit narrow. The O gauge has shiny rails.
Hope this helps

I had an older version of an operating horse coral in 027. It needed to pick-up the power from both of the shoes that hung down and touched the extra rails on the operating control track. The 027 car picks up all power from the UCS track, the O gauge cars pick up power from the car's frame and the UCS track. At least that is my expriance with operating cars. If this is the case it won't work with an O gauge operating car on 027 UCS track or an 027 operating car on O gauge UCS track.
You need to be sure which car you have and what track it operates on, it makes a big differance!!

The Postwar 3462 & 3472 work fine on 027 6019 uncoupler/unloader; not sure about the 3662. I think the UCS is more for 0 gauge.
