If its the bridge I'm thinking of it seems a bit flimmsy to use as a hinged bridge.  I have a friend that has one as a lift out and he needs to be very careful in handling it.  If you do decide on a hinged I'd suggest reinforcing it with aluminum fastened to the underside.  I scratchbuilt built a liftout using alum. channel and sheet as the base and styrene beams for the superstructure, it could have easily had a hinge installed.
