The lamp is a number 50, but you need it in red or green:  http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2102811  Olsen's has it as 50R and 50G.

You could also use a number 52 or 1447 if you bypass the 40-ohm resistor:  http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2103783 http://autolumination.com/trainbulbs.htm  Olsen's has 1447R and 1447G.

Lionel 153 Signal pre 1950 question - lamps

Well - live and learn again - I 'won' a 153 Block Signal, in decent condition, but neither of the lamps work. Looked at the page in the G'berg repair manual, and found out by the resistor picture, that I got the older version, which has 6-8 V screw in lamps. p/n of 50-301 & 50-302. Not found in Olsens, nor Tinkers. The 'live and learn' comment means - I didnt know there were 2 versions of this signal. So - does anyone know of any replacement lamps available, or have I won a disaster?

Thanks
