Funny as it may seem, but I recall putting away my old post war Lionel 675 to buy mini bikes and dirt bikes back in the early seventies.  Two years ago I dug out that 675, had a blast running it and purchased a "bunch" of old and new trains since.  Although I don't ride dirt bikes any more, my latest cycle is an 09 Harley Ultra Classic. My wife and I have clocked thousands of miles on various road trips, with last year taking a 12000 mile trip to Alaska.  Of course, trains were a part of that trip; the Alaska Railroad has some spectacular scenery.  Now that spring has arrived in Northern Michigan, the railroad tracks in the basement will have to wait for rainy days.

Well I don't have a street bike but I do have a Honda XR400 for dirt / trail riding.  I also have a '76 Honda CT90 that I have restored for puttering around on the two tracks in northern Michigan.

We are located about a quarter mile down from the KOA campground in Spearfish. Right off I-90.  We also have a campground with clean ,hot showers.electric hook ups.

Drink prices are not jacked up for the rally. Same low VFW prices for everybody.

Jon, Once the "honeymoon" is over maybe your riding partner will be back for some rides with the old man. Big Smile  Whistling

Doug--that would be nice!  For the most part I really enjoy riding alone or with our youngest son on his bike but there are times I would really enjoy her company just to go for coffee.  When I was showing her the bike last week I mentioned that women rave about the passenger pillion--it even has it's own heating control ... she didn't say no and she didn't say yes, there's hope Thumbs Up  What I need to do is get her younger sister to go for a ride with me ... that would seal the deal --- or the casket Laugh

I have a street-fightin' `97 Buell Cyclone, Its almost as much fun to spend money on as my trains!

Rode to the Hoosac Tunnel a few years back, with some fellow Trainiacs. Its a great thing to play with when its too nice out to stay inside and play trains.

The potholes, poorly maintained roads, and the ignorant drivers up this way keep my brain in check until the urge to get one passes.  The bikes were out in force up in New Hampshire last weekend as the temps climbed North of 50 for the first time in months.

Jack.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.

We used to ride everywhere, but after coming to Ca many years ago it only took one ride on the freeway to realize it was time to quit.

My Suzuki Boulevard M50 keeps staring at me every time I go out into the garage..."Is it time yet? How about today?" I keep having to start it up (and my wife's Boulevard S40) to keep the batteries charged. It's almost warm enough here. The riding season in NEPA is kind of short, unfortunately. :(

I learned how to ride long before I ever owned a car. The wife and I have been cross country three times coast to coast and through 31 states. We currently own a red 04 Heritage Softail Harley.

Now if some decent weather would get here to go for a spin......
