I swear I posted this here earlier but several searches can not find a relevant post, so I'll ask again. I bought a very gently used K line RS-3 with TMCC at a show.  I tested it at the show and it was fine. I brought it home to our display layout and it worked fine. The next week when I tried to use it it would fire up, sounds were great, Smoke OK, I would start running it it would go at slow speed for awhile and then take off like a bat out of hell with no control.  Several others reported similar acting RS-3's.  Today I took it apart, everything looked OK. I added additional length of antenna per someones suggestion, that didn't help. I checked for dirty or bad tach tape or readers, but this one doesn't have EOB.  So are there any other ideas?  I know someone said theirs cost over $200 to fix. I will convert it to DCS before I put that much into it, or run it strictly as conventional.  I'm open to your ideas before I put it out to pasture. It's in like new shape and I already have $120 into it.  Thanks, Dave

I have a lionel NYC GP-9 one of the first produced with tmcc in it. Lionel told me it was my board and the new board is like $100.00 all you have to do it take old out and put new in. my will run about 15 minutes then do that it has something to do with getting hot according to them. When I get home tonight or tomorrw afternoon I can look on my old putor for the part number for you now not sure if the board I have is the same as yours but they both are doing the same thing. my gp-9 has engine sounds and command control I believe
