I'll try to get some pictures as soon as I can.
Hopefully this weekend I'll get a chance to widen the existing layout to accept the 072 outer loop. I'd love to get that finished by Sunday. I already have an "L" shaped 14' X 12' temp layout with an 060 loop on the outside and a inner siding that runs 3/4 the way around the inside.
I'll take a few pics later today if I get the chance.

That's great Bill ! A bit of good luck is always welcome and you surely had some . Welcome aboard the O scale Railroad hobby train ! Don't make yourself scarce and drop in alot .... You can just post some pics of your engines and cars .... no need to wait until you have a layout .... some of us only collect trains and no layouts and like seeing those too .
That does happen from time to time, but so do things in reverse, you pay near suggested retail for the whole set and in the box, no track, transformer, etc. I have also found that some of the more reputable places will substitute more product if the particular item ordered is out of stock. Rarely, but it has happened to me.
Welcome to O and look forward to some photos when you get on your way with the layout. Dennis

About a year ago I made the move from HO to O scale. I’m in the process of building an “L” shaped 14’ x 16’ layout. It will be three loops that interconnect. I have a Lionel starter set that was purchased a year ago and wanted to start expanding the trains.
I’ve been asking about how Atlas, and Williams cars will work with the Lionel stuff I already have. Everyone said they should work without any problems so I decided to make an inexpensive purchase to get myself started and if it didn’t work I wouldn’t have spent too much.
I found an Atlas train set that comes with a C&O, 4-4-2 and tender, Box Car, Gondola, and Caboose but does not come with track or transformer. Since I didn’t need the track or transformer I thought it would be a good purchase. The set sold for $89.00.
I also found a freight expansion set from Atlas that comes with three cars. I figured 5 cars and a caboose would be perfect.
The stuff arrived today. When I opened the package I was surprised to find not only the engine and the three cars but a fourth car and an 80 watt transformer with a 40” x 70” oval of track.
After checking everything out it seems that someone sent me the wrong set. So for $89.00 I got a $229.00 set. That was as cheap as I could find the set. The highest price was $289.00
Must be beginners luck!
