My only "complaint" is the pics are so small. I tried to click on them to see if they would expand, but it wouldn't work for me.
One of my Mom's uncles worked for the Minneapolis & St.Louis in their HQ in Minneapolis, so always nice to see their equipment. IMHO the Lionel grain elevator was one of their best kits ever.
Bigdoggie.....you have some treasured, irreplaceable, one of a kind pieces to boot. I have only one piece from my fathers's AF trains when he was a yute, a water tower. During the Great Depression, my grandfather had to sell off anything and everything that would help put food on the table. Lots of memories in that single remnant.

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
I have put a lot of my grandfathers stuff on the layout that was handmade back in those days people couldnt afford to buy lionel stuff all the time so he built alot of his buildings and oil towers
yes i think they are i have not seen this one on any layout that i know of and seen on e-bay but not that number they came out with a remake few years back
Great layout,
A real tribute to your grandfather. Love plenty of action. Even though I cleared my LANDFILL basement prior to Christmas, mine is still in boxes. I better get my *** (Polish) in gear before the wife takes back my half of the basement.
Rob......I think in the two + years I have been on this Forum, yours is the first picture of the Minneapolis. & St. Louis GP9 I have seen. Are they that rare? Sweet! Jack.

Good old Land of Enchantment! Yeah, know Rio Rancho well. Got kids there. Fastest growing city in the state thanks to Intel. I'm way over in Quay County on the east side. The rest of the state thinks we are part of Texas.

Great layout! Looks like you have used your space well.
Got it. Thanks for the quick reply.

Grain tower
Nice job. Is that a coal tower? If so, who manufactured it?
That was my grandfathers train he gave to me
yes minneapolis and st.louis
Looks like you have packed a lot of action in the space you have. Good job.
Charlie
I'm impressed, that is a LOT of stuff going on in that amount of space. Almost looks like the engine may be M&STL, (Missouri and St. Louis? or is it Minneapolis and St. Louis?) Good job !!!
(If you would do a "search" on how to upload pictures, you will find more information also.)
