Problem with new CC 2056 Hudson smoke unit?

make sure the piston and chamber are dry, you may have overfilled the bowl. and that its not binding.

Yeah I think I overfilled it because it worked great when I first ran it, smoke you out of the room great. I really wish the bowl was bigger but oh well. I did wrap a drinking straw around the spring underneath the piston and it worked better but puffed like any other baby hudson. So I had some small plastic washers so I put one underneath the spring to give it more tension so it would not render the spring unusable but could move the piston up better, and it improved it alot, thanks.

 Try a drop of oil along the area where the cross-head pushes the smoke cam forward, and check to see that the bellows itself is not binding in the bottom of the unit.

Thanks but I tried lubricating the piston and it didn't work. It seems the lever is alittle too long for the smoke unit piston, causing it to bind.

Ok I finally got it today. And I love the engine but the smoke unit piston tends to stick and it doesn't puff like it should. When I first put it on the track it puffed smoke so hard that it seemed that it had a fan driven unit, but then after a few minutes of running it would start to miss a puff or two and it would get worse. I opened it up to see why the pisten was sticking. And the piston has a spring UNDERNEATH it so the piston basically slides up and down the rod its supposed to be attacted too. What do you think I should do?
