Where Does One Purchase Paint For Lionel Pre War?
Posted by MickeyDemian on Thursday, February 11, 2010 8:18 PM

Hello:

A newbie here to the forum.  I just picked up a Lionel 805 boxcar that was missing a sliding door and rail.  I picked up replacement parts but must now try painting them to match.  Where do the informed collectors pick up their paint for the cars they restore or is there paint in big box stores that matches quite well?  I need the pumpkin orange for the rail and the green for the door.  Maybe if I get enough paint I will strip and restore the whole car.  Any sources out there that you can recommend?  Thanks for any input or opinion.

welcome to the Site! Charles S Woods, 330-772-5177 matches colors.

CTT  March 2001 had a spray can guide to Lionel paints that you can find in different stores.
