Lionel Standard Gauge 380E..Need Help!!
Posted by lionel2 on Thursday, February 11, 2010 7:12 PM

I have a dark green 380E that I am not sure what the 2 levers underneath the loco do.  There is a curved lever and a small straight one.  I think the small straight one changes the direction of the loco.  I have no idea what the long curved one on the other end of the loco's motor does.  Anyone know what the long curved lever does??  It moves up and down.  The small straight one moves side to side and I am pretty sure it is used to change directions.  Any help will do in the matter.  The 380E has a pendulum reversing Unit installed.  It is original with original wiring and just new bowers wheels.  The rest of it is original.  Should there be something wrong with it??  I use a 167 whistle/direction controller to try to change directions, but is not working on it.  I have the directions to my 167 and I wired it up the right way to my Z transformer.  Any help will do.  Thanks.

I did have it working before. But, now it does not want to change directions when I use the 167 whistle/direction control.  I have no idea what is wrong.  How do you fix a Pendulum E-Unit??  Thanks.
