Include the words, "original", "new old stock", or "nos" to exclude reproductions.  These plus "Lionel" and "drum" should do the job.  (There aren't any up right now.)

How do you search for them?  I can never find any outside of looking for complete e units.

Lots of original E-unit drums show up on Ebay on a fairly regular basis. There were a couple of lots last week.

Jeff unfortunatly does not have any originals left.  I will continue the hunt...........

I am baffled at our exteme technology in plastics and can;t even make a repro of high quality.  Unbeleivable.

Fordiesel69,

Try 'Olsen's', under 'Sal's List,' or type in 'The Train Tender' and contact the proprietor Jeff Kane.

Check with this guy; I've had real good dealings with him:

Or, you might try ebay again. Laugh

I am having no luck finding an original lionel e unit drum.  Would anyone have a good used one laying around they want to sell?  I would like the plastic to be good and I can clean it if dirty.
