Rust removal????
Posted by jfitz on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 2:57 AM

Rooky question but heregos: bought a working set of 022 switches. They have some rust,no pits ,just storage rust. Have Scotchbrite pads and elbow grease; is there another component that would help in this process? Thanks ,jfitz

I have used rubbing compound while wearing disposable gloves. It keeps the dust rust down. i wipe the excess frequently To clean up, a good old sock with wd 40 or paint thinner. I even use a tugsten carbide bit to smooth out rough areas, dry of course. A wire wheel for the recesses.
