"... is it scratch built. ..."

In a manner of speaking, I guess.  I designed the cutouts and etchings in a computer program, and then sent the designs to a lasershop which laser-etched and laser-cut the walls into styrene sheets.  Then I painted, assembled, detailed, etc.

Many parts are pre-bought (statues, columns).  The barrel ceiling of the main hall I had to do custom.

John Amato, great looking station and welcome to the CTT forum.  Lots of great folks here all sharing.  Look forward to more shots of your layout.

Laz, that would be a sweet deal if you were able to work in some bennies from having that billboard.

laz - She wants the real deal, just doesn't want to clean the stall.  Does Barry rent that billboard from you?  Sweet deal if you worked that one...

Yes, but she 'settles' for the occasional Horse Car that Fife brings home every once and again! Thumbs Up

And just how do you think he works all those sweet deals Barry gives him? I bet it is written into his contract that he has to post a pic of that billboard on here at least once per month! Wink

Here is my "East meets West" photo of my Lionel Conventional Classics steamers. 2056 on the left, and 646 on the right. And, from last Spring. My "MPC Conventional Classic" from 1976. The same Hudson as the two above, numbered 8600. ;) Also, Welcome to John Amato! I hope you like it here. I hope you get more applicants for your scenery contest, too!

BRUTUS,

LOL, didn't see many of them this year.  Could be on the endangered list?

FIFE,

Is it like the commercial, you didn't say do you want a real pony?  Or was it an O scale pony?

The littlest princess has prepared a "Tips & Techniques" class for all of you.  So please take your seats and put on your thinking caps.

Picked up a few bunches of these fall floral thingies from Michael's.  Once at home, you can cut off the "tree" armatures from the big green leafy thingies.  You should have 5 trees from one bunch.

We used an old bottle of Polly S "Dirt".  It smells a lot like the paint we use in art.  Apply one coat to cover all the light green trunks and branches.

Mix up the colors to keep things interesting.  Before you know it, you have a whole forest.

Daddy said I saved him a lot of money on hoydee-toydee Woodland Scenics trees.  Good...I want a pony.

 Good afternoon,

Great pictures as usual guys.

Well the car exchange has come to an end here.  Both fife's Chessie box car and my LNE box car arrived on the interchange track on the 27th.  I hope to get the Chessie car on it's way tomorrow.  Here are a few pics as they were picked up by a freight pulled by double headed PRR decapods.

Greetings folks.

A little tinplate is always good for the soul.

There has been lot of activity down at the station lately.  Seems that there are lots of folks coming to town to enjoy the winter festivities and go skiing at Granit Peak.  All kinds of varnish from a number of eras has been pressed into service to handle the traffic.

There was even a rumor that folks south of the MD line were coming north to enjoy our good weather.  I've wondered what they have in all of those extra carry-ons they are bringing along.  The station agent said something about grits?

Time to enjoy the sunshine and cuddle up with a good book or train magazine in front of the fireplace.

Bill, What flavor of smoke fluid do you use in the "Smoking SalsaTankcar"?

Right now it is hickory, will be looking for some new smells at York.
