THANKS

Here is an older Lionel log dump car.  Lionel also made a cheaper plastic version.

Hope this helps?

fritch1,  the Lionel 3461 is readily available online & works well with both the Lionel Lumber Loaders and Sawmill.  I think there is a new, or relatively new, release available besides the post war ones, too.

I have both the 3461 and 3361 log dump cars.  Both of them dump and reset.  One nice feature of the 3361 is that every time the activation button is pressed, the unload arms will raise up in small increments, dump the load and then reset.  The 3461 dumps all at once and then resets.  The 3461 is all metal.  The 3361 has a plastic frame with some metal parts.  If you like to run your trains real fast, the logs might roll off in the curves on the 3461.  Both cars work well.

Here is a video of the 3461 dumping logs.  Forward to about the 7:00 minute mark to see it.

Dave,

Excellent operation, it seems you have your operating equipment fine tuned.

Thank You,

My MTH log, and other "dumping" cars, operate slow and smooth, and re-set themselves.

Here is a short video of my K-Line K713-1891 Log Car.

The following is  my MTH 30-7648

This is my first attempt at videos. Maybe there is a better way.

I like the way the logs magically jump back into the car at the end of the video.
