You have the typical 3 clanks of death! This is somewhat common with Protosound 1 MTH engines.

What you have to do reset the board's software. MTH has a reset kit for just this type of problem.

It is a MTH Proto-sound Reset Kit. Part # 50-1023, cost about $25.00. It contains a special chip to reset the board. It is really simple to do.

Just make sure your new battery is the correct type and fully charged or replace it  w/ a BCR battery.

Or if you are unconfrontable doing this, your local hobby shop should be able to do it for you.

MTH electronics after long rest

Bought a MTH NW_@ on Ebay reported to have little use!  Battery was original with slight calcification on the negative post.  Replaced with charged battery, oiled and lubed.  Now, with AC the engine will make three clanks, volume determined by voltage, and than nothing.   Will not move or sound.

I know long storae is not good - any ideas?
