This is a problem with some of their cross overs as well.
To solve this prob on C.O. I had to extend the centerrails closer to the diamond.

Add a pickup under the tender, with a black 1-wire tether to the locomotive. If you want to be able to disconnect it, get a male and a female connector pin (but not a complete connector) of a convenient size, solder them to the wires, and cover all but the end of the male pin with shrink tubing.

Atlas O Switches, Engine stalls
Posted by jmpmap on Tuesday, June 1, 2004 2:48 PM
I finally have the track down on my new TMCC layout. This time, I built it using Atlas O, rather than tubular track. The trains run nice and quiet, and most run smoothly through the switches. The only problem that I have experienced is when running my Lionel 0-8-0 Switcher through the turnout, it stalls. I suspect that this is caused by the narrow reach of the pick-up shoes. Has anyone else had this problem, or can someone provide a remedy. Thanks
