In the photo on E-Bay it appears to be an HO Gauge (and is listed in the HO section) an unpowered model of a Santa Fe GM "F9" "B" unit in "War Bonnet" colors".   Lionel modeled the earlier General Motors "F3" in their "O Gauge" line.

The E-Bay listing does not name the maker, the "as is" makes me look closer,  besides the coulper, lens missing in the "port holes", but at $8.61 winning bid how can you loose?

I agree, it's probably HO.  But he already bought it, Brent.

jfitz,  if it is the wrong gauge, maybe you can check it out somehow.  If it works, you might resell it on ebay.  At the price you paid, with more info to the next buyer, you might turn a little profit.

Good luck,

Charlie

I don't see that the seller has done anything wrong.  He listed his locomotive under "Toys & Hobbies > Model RR, Trains > HO Scale > Other".  He could have redundantly mentioned the scale in his description; but there was no deception in not doing do.

jfitz,

I had an experiance with an item on ebay, it was listed as H.O. but it was actually O gauge by Atlas, it was a caboose that I wanted(didn't care if it was H.O.) because it was a limited run item for the Red Caboose Motel in Strasburg PA.

If you are interested there is a model train & car show in Stuart FL this saturday at the Martin County Fairgrounds. Also near the end of this month is a model train show in Deerfield Beach FL. Both of these are on the south east coast of Florida.

Geez,

It was your mistake in the first place.  Then you go and give the seller neutral feedback.  Hardly fair.

Whatever made you think it was O gauge ?

In any event, it may be an Athearn HO unpowered B unit.  Just slap a coupler on it and resell it on eBay.  Maybe the guy who came in second will buy it.

Yep, it was .I said that from the beginning

What is fair?

His inability to repond to emails says alot.

I assumed ; I thought I was on a Lionel ebay page. I wasn't .You know what they say about assuming things. It made an *** out of me.

It came in a Tyco box.

It's to late to change my nuetral'feelings' because as he said in his last email "it's shipped".
