Short of finding another brush cap, this sounds viable if everything fits correctly.

I cant add anything, but thought your question was worthy of being "bumped" to the top of the page, so maybe someone may have some thoughts might see it.

Good Luck

My 62 year old crane has a warn rotorshaft bearing hole in the brush cap.  I plan to drill out the worn hole.  Glue a short section of 5/32 inch brass tubing as a new bearing surface.  I saw this done somewhere in the past.  Does anyone know of this fix.  Where it may have appeared.  Or, is there a better method that I need to know about?  All advise will be taken very seriously.

Thanks.
