If they ever would, I hope it would be in the Roadname of CSX and UP.

 If the trucks swiveled enough the engine could span an 027 circle of track.

I did a quick google search an never saw a length. How long would they be?

The MTH scale version is 25 inches long, definietly a single unit diesel that would need 072 track. MTH has released about 5 different versions over the past 15 years or so. It may be a future candidate for Lionel's Vision Line.
