Getting more traction from a 1055 Texas Special

Some folks place weights on the metal frame to increase traction.

It's an Alco, not an F3.  There should be a weight riveted to the rear of the body.  Does yours have one there?

 I have an old 1055 (F3) Texas Special that would pull more of a load if I could weight down the Locomotive more.  I can press down on it with a finger and it really takes off.  Any tricks that you use to get more traction or add weight to an engine would be appreciated.
