Great photos guys. Will try and get some of the two traveling box cars that arrived. Hitting the road tomorrow AM early and not coming back until Thursday. Just in time to repack and go to the lake house for New Years. Nice photo "Over the Hill Blow Hard Horn Blower" [Jon].

dougdagrumpGreat photos guys. NWFlyer, hope the PC folks don't file suit over your Nativity on school grounds. Fife, what a great way to pay homage to the past and maintain fond memories. Jon, It really don't get any better than that. Hhmmm wonder how difficult it would be to put a "standard gauge" ceiling track in the 4 seasons room. Watch the snow fall and run trains, . For the Christmas Season we put a little additional signage at our entrance to make sure no visitors missed us: I'll bet some of the 2railers just loved that. Jon, The slopes are open and in use in Sandy Eggo: The ice skaters seem to be enjoying the day; Apparently the toboggan hill is a bit dangerous though, some of the riders have disappeared into the mountain to never be seen again.

Great pics everyone, I've been to busy taking Christmas pics to take any of the layout. Maybe next week.
Northwoods - Paid $10 for mine off the shelf. Very ornate structure.
I remember that train, Jon. Congratulations. The car looks great on your layout. Looks like we'll have to clean the deck when it returns to home rails, what 1,700 miles and 12 months later. Here's my Christmas gifts to myself. Old Hornby and misc.

fifedog,
Thanks for the compliments on the progress of the Blueboard Central. I thought that you might particularly like the Christmas display that Nils Jameson put up. You have some nice additions from the Lemax line of buildings. I keep looking at them as potential buildings for the downtown area. I particulary like the subway entrance. We no longer have a K Mart here in town so I missed that particular item. I'd love to add that to my downtown area. I have found one for $10.00 plus $5.00 shipping. Does that sound like a fair price in comparison to what they were priced new?
dougdagrump,
At first I worried that there would be complaints about the Nativity being placed on public property. But one of the benefits of collecting and displaying pre-war trains is that in that era it was politically correct to have religious symbols placed in public places. So in the little world that I have recreated the complaints would be politically incorrect.
Thanks to both of you for the great photos of your layouts. They are always an inspiration.

Northwoods - Blueboard Central is looking better and better...
jonadel - Great story. Wonderful pics.
Here are some recent additions for my layout...
Michael's was selling these LEMAX buildings. The Vineyard is loaded with detail, and wifey absolutley loves the A-frame.
LEMAX people may be a bit too big for O-scale, but some of its animals, like these squirrels, are just too cute to pass up.
KMart offered a nicely detailed subway entrance this year.
...and one oldie-but-a-goodie. Actually, this is a ceramic house that my maternal grandmother made for me (probably 35 years ago). It has been on numerous layouts I've built over the years, and now it's tucked away in the back of my Meyersdale area, but having it there conjurs pleasant memories of Christmas past.
Doug Murphy's car made an appearance recently and I must say, it's a very cool car.
Here it is arriving.
Of course, it was being pulled by a midwest John Deere!
I see that a Herford was trying to make a break away!!!!
Even able to do some bridge inspection.
Doug--your car will be in the mail tomorrow, heading for home thanks for sharing!
Here's a very big surprise. Some of you may remember that I've wanted a standard gauge Christmas train for a long time and I had one spotted in my favorite train store two years ago. I never pulled the trigger and bought it because I thought it was more than I wanted to spend, after two years of it collecting dust I finally went into that store in Sept. after the birth of our Grandson with my check book ready to buy it, GONE!!!!!! I couldn't believe it, very disappointed. My wife had been staying with the kids the first week after his birth and in a free moment she went down and bought it for me. Here's a few pics:
MTH Standard Gauge
It will have a new place to run every Christmas in the 4 season room, around the pencil tree.
And lastly, here' my favorite picture of Christmas, taken with granddaughter's new camera. It doesn't get any better than this!
Merry Christmas!
Thanks for sharing your photos today folks.
I'm a little late in posting Christmas greetings, but we are technically in the 12 days of Christmas. Things have been busy around our house, and the drug store had a backlog of photos to develop. I thought that I would share a few pictures of the holiday from around town.
The first one is of the ice sculptures down at the Winter Carnival.

Phish - Judging by the outside 3rd rail in one of your shots, is this the former B&O Company layout, which was built to highlight the Magnolia Cutoff...? If so, how much of it is original?
I didn't make it down to Cincy this year. Thanks for posting pictures of the display, always a big attraction in the Cincinnati area.

Have fun
